Mick Richards is a movement leader, documentary filmmaker, and media strategist committed to transforming communities through storytelling, strategy, and city-level engagement. As the founder of MissionWake and visionary behind MissionWakeNews.com, Mick leads a platform where journalism meets mission, amplifying stories of transformation and equipping believers for local impact.

With over 20 years of experience in faith-based media, global missions, and community renewal, Mick brings a unique blend of creative excellence, field-tested strategy, and frontline presence to the media landscape. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, he transitioned from corporate production to become a Media Missionary with Go To Nations in 2012, traveling across the United States and internationally to document stories of Gospel impact.

He is the producer of the award-winning documentary series Building a Difference and helped lead the national expansion of Saturate USA. As Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Jesus Week Movement, Mick has helped mobilize hundreds of churches and thousands of leaders across New York City, New Jersey, and Philadelphia to saturate neighborhoods with prayer, presence, and the message of Christ.

Today, he serves as the editorial and strategic lead for the MissionWake News Collective, a growing voice in movement journalism that captures real-time stories of city transformation while equipping the Church for deeper engagement. Through weekly features, field reporting, and leadership development tools, the News Collective is setting the stage for sustainable Gospel impact.

Mick’s work is grounded in one conviction: media should do more than inspire. It should activate. Through the convergence of story, strategy, and Spirit, MissionWake exists to mobilize believers into real-world action and lasting community transformation.
